CELEBRATING 40 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE

About us

A Bug-Free Odyssey: Our Origin Story

In the heart of Tampa Bay, a unique story unfolds. In 1986, Masoud, a man with a profound aversion to bugs, embarked on a journey that would redefine pest control. Armed with a degree in biology and chemistry, he saw an opportunity to transform his scientific knowledge into a solution for a common problem. His passion, however, lay not just in eradicating pests but in serving the people who were troubled by them.

Masoud and his brother built Pestex on a foundation of exceptional customer service and personalized pest solutions. It was more than just a business; it was a family affair. From the beginning, their focus was on building relationships, not just treating homes. They understood that homes are sanctuaries, and their clients were entrusting them with their peace of mind.

Masoud H.

Certified Operator in Charge, Lead for Structural and Lawn and Ornamental Pest Control

Years with Pestex Services Inc.: 40 Years (Since 1986)

Work History & Experience: Masoud H. is the founder of Pestex Services Inc., starting the company in 1986. With a strong academic background holding degrees in both Chemistry and Biology, Masoud brings a deep scientific understanding to pest management. His extensive experience over three decades has made him a leading expert in structural and lawn and ornamental pest control in the Tampa Bay area, guiding the company and its technicians with unparalleled knowledge.

The Bug That Creeps Me Out the Most: While I’ve spent my career dealing with all sorts of pests, bedbugs are the ones that truly give me the creeps. It’s not just the idea of them, but knowing the facts about them – how they hide in tiny crevices, feed on us while we sleep without us even realizing it, and can be incredibly difficult to eliminate once they infest a space. Their ability to be such stealthy, persistent hitchhikers that invade our most personal spaces is particularly unsettling.

Tony H.

Certified Operator in Charge of Fumigations and WDO Inspections/Treatments, Lead WDO Inspector

Years with Pestex Services Inc.: 40 Years (Since 1986)

Work History & Experience: Tony H. joined Pestex Services Inc. in 1986 alongside Masoud, bringing a keen eye for detail that is essential for thorough inspections. His background includes a career as a real estate home inspector, which provides him with unique insight into structural issues and how pests can impact a property’s integrity. As our Lead WDO (Wood-Destroying Organism) Inspector and Certified Operator in Charge of Fumigations, Tony is dedicated to identifying and treating pest issues that threaten the structure of homes and businesses.

The Bug That Creeps Me Out the Most: For me, the bug that truly creeps me out is the Formosan termite. Knowing that a single colony can number in the millions and is capable of causing extensive damage much faster than native species is unsettling. Their aggressive nature and ability to build carton nests within walls, sometimes independent of soil contact once established, makes them a particularly formidable and concerning pest to encounter.

Julio F.

Fumigation Team Specialist

Years with Pestex Services Inc.: 10 Years (Since 2016)

Work History & Experience: Julio F. has been a vital member of our fumigation team since 2016. As a “strong and steady hand” on fumigations, his meticulous approach and deep knowledge of the tenting process are invaluable. With over 1000 treatments completed alongside Luis, Julio’s extensive experience ensures that each fumigation is conducted safely and effectively, providing thorough protection for our clients’ properties.

The Bug That Creeps Me Out the Most: The pest that really gets under my skin is the ghost ant. What creeps me out is how tiny and almost translucent they are, making them incredibly hard to spot until you have a massive trail. Plus, they move so fast and can nest in so many different places, even indoors, making them feel like they can just appear out of nowhere, which is unsettling.

Chris S.

Pest Control Technician

Years with Pestex Services Inc.: 1 Year (Since 2025)

Work History & Experience: Chris S. joined the Pestex Services Inc. team in 2025, bringing energy, reliability, and a genuine commitment to protecting Tampa Bay homes and businesses from pests. He takes pride in showing up prepared and thorough on every job, treating each property with the same care and attention to detail he’d want for his own home. Chris is always working to sharpen his knowledge of local pest behavior and treatment methods, and his customers appreciate his straightforward, no-nonsense approach paired with genuine friendliness.

The Bug That Creeps Me Out the Most: Hands down, it’s cockroaches. There’s something about the way they move — fast, unpredictable, and always seeming to appear when you least expect it — that gets under my skin every time. Ironically, dealing with roaches is one of the most common calls we get here in Tampa, whether it’s German roaches indoors or the bigger Smoky Brown “palmetto bugs” that wander in from outside. I may not love them personally, but that just makes me more motivated to help people get rid of them for good.

Nancy B.

Administrative Assistant

Years with Pestex Services Inc.: 4 Years (Since 2022)

Work History & Experience: Nancy B. is the indispensable hub of our operations at Pestex Services Inc., joining us in 2022. While often working behind the scenes, her role is absolutely vital to ensuring everything runs smoothly. Nancy is the go-to person for keeping the office organized, supporting the team, and ensuring our clients receive the best possible service from their first call. Her dedication is the backbone of our daily operations.

The Bug That Creeps Me Out the Most: As an animal lover with several pets, including chickens, the pests that truly give me the creeps are fleas and mites. It’s unsettling knowing how easily these tiny parasites can infest our beloved animals and cause them discomfort and health issues by feeding on them. The thought of these microscopic creatures being present and potentially affecting my pets is what makes them particularly bothersome to me.

Danielle Z.

Lead Termite Fumigator

Years with Pestex Services Inc.: 1 Year (Since 2025)

Work History & Experience:Danielle Zybach joined Pestex Services Inc. in 2025 and has quickly stepped into a lead role on our termite fumigation team. She brings a sharp, detail-oriented approach to every tenting job, understanding that homeowners are trusting her with one of the most significant treatments their property will ever undergo. Danielle takes the time to walk clients through the process clearly, from initial inspection to final clearance, so there’s never any mystery about what’s happening to their home. Her precision and steady, professional demeanor have made her a trusted name among Pestex customers facing drywood termite infestations.

The Bug That Creeps Me Out the Most: For me, it’s Formosan termites, hands down. They’re sometimes called “super termites” for a reason — their colonies can grow much larger than typical subterranean termites, and they work fast, chewing through wood at a rate that can catch homeowners off guard. Knowing how much damage a colony can do before it’s even detected is what gets to me. It’s exactly why I take fumigation and termite treatment as seriously as I do — the stakes for a home are real.
